| Ugh. Slow race, but had fun and didn't die. Measured the course using google earth and it is actually 3.3 miles. Adjusting time to a normal 5k, it was more like a 20:54 or so. Still not lightening fast. And I felt okay during the race...no cramps or tired legs. Just didn't run it fast. Maybe I'm just getting old. Or maybe my training has been lackluster. My brother John also ran the race. He was expecting to win but also got 2nd. We were both humbled and decided to turn over a new leaf and be more diligent and disciplined in our training. And eating habits. I need to stop eating so much chocolate! Portion control! |

| Awesome run! Felt really good once warmed up (after about 2 miles). The loop I did included lots of hills. And I owned all of them. I only had an hour to run so I had to keep up the pace. Averaged about 7:45 min/mile. Hard for me to find time to stretch and cool down. I need to, though. I often wish I had more time to focus on running, stretching, weight training. I shouldn't complain, though, because there are so many moms that somehow fit it all in no matter how exhausted and busy they must be! And I only have to worry about myself. I really admire mothers who take care of themselves and stay in good shape. |

| Ran similar loop to what I ran on Tuesday. Okay pace...about 8:05 min/mile. Hips hurt pretty bad (existing problem with left hip and new problem with right hip...I think it's from rock climbing yesterday). Icy-hot on hips right now. I need to do actual ice, though. It feels like it's a problem with the actual bone on the left hip. Have had the problem on and off (mostly on) for about 9 months now. :/ I keep saying once I finish my June marathon, then I'll go to the doctor. We'll see. |

| Took it sooo easy. About 8:30 min/mile. Ran up Hobblecreek. Enjoyable, actually. Hips hurt. Iced the one pulled muscle hip after running. Also mowed the lawn! Which probably adds a couple miles. :) I'm a little nervous for my half marathon this weekend because my hips really start flaring up in pain after about 7 miles of running. And that's after slow running. Not sure how they will do going fast. Ibuprofen? I think yes. Haven't been doing speed workouts, either, so I don't know what kind of goal/time to set for the race. Maybe sub 1:32? That seems reasonable.

| What a fun race! I started off taking it easy to see how my hip would hold out. (I didn't have too high of expectations for this race b/c of my injuries.) Hip hurt the first 6 miles or so but started feeling better (a miracle). I was able to pick up the pace after the first 3 miles. I think the pain is all in my head. :D Felt good physically/mentally during the race. Probably the best I've ever felt! Besides the hip problem. Didn't even hit the wall! Had negative splits pretty much the whole race even though the first half was downhill and the last 4 miles was uphill. I was pleased with my time despite "taking it easy". I really really enjoyed the course because the downhill wasn't too steep. Wasn't sore after the race. Felt great! Will definitely do this race again! |
