| Took it sooo easy. About 8:30 min/mile. Ran up Hobblecreek. Enjoyable, actually. Hips hurt. Iced the one pulled muscle hip after running. Also mowed the lawn! Which probably adds a couple miles. :) I'm a little nervous for my half marathon this weekend because my hips really start flaring up in pain after about 7 miles of running. And that's after slow running. Not sure how they will do going fast. Ibuprofen? I think yes. Haven't been doing speed workouts, either, so I don't know what kind of goal/time to set for the race. Maybe sub 1:32? That seems reasonable.

| What a fun race! I started off taking it easy to see how my hip would hold out. (I didn't have too high of expectations for this race b/c of my injuries.) Hip hurt the first 6 miles or so but started feeling better (a miracle). I was able to pick up the pace after the first 3 miles. I think the pain is all in my head. :D Felt good physically/mentally during the race. Probably the best I've ever felt! Besides the hip problem. Didn't even hit the wall! Had negative splits pretty much the whole race even though the first half was downhill and the last 4 miles was uphill. I was pleased with my time despite "taking it easy". I really really enjoyed the course because the downhill wasn't too steep. Wasn't sore after the race. Felt great! Will definitely do this race again! |
